Our Curriculum

Our structured curriculum blends language and cultural education, aligned with education standards from both Victoria, Australia, and Tamil Nadu, India.

Victorian Language Framework

Our curriculum is developed in line with the Victorian Curriculum F-10, Languages. The languages curriculum is organised through themes and topics which are arranged to provide progressive and cumulative opportunities for students to develop language and cultural understandings.

Tamil Nadu Syllabus

We follow the Tamil Nadu Government’s prescribed syllabus from India, ensuring that our students receive a comprehensive and standardised education in the Tamil language. This approach provides an authentic learning experience that enriches their understanding of the Tamil language and culture.

Progressive Skill Building

Our program features six dedicated year levels: Vithai, Arumbu, Nanai, Mugai, Mottu, and Malar. Each level builds progressively on the previous one, offering an engaging and effective learning experience tailored to the developmental stages of our students.

Interactive Language Activities

Through immersive activities such as storytelling, songs and conversational practice, students not only develop their speaking and comprehension skills but also enjoy a vibrant and dynamic learning environment. These enjoyable experiences foster a love for the language and encourage active participation.

Cultural Learning Modules

Integrated cultural lessons allow students to understand Tamil history, traditions and arts alongside written and verbal language learning. This encourages our students to form a well-rounded and holistic connection to Tamil culture.

Assessments and Feedback

Reports are written twice a year, offering a comprehensive overview of each student’s progress. Additionally, they include practical suggestions for how parents can support their child’s learning at home, encouraging a collaborative approach to education and reinforcing the skills taught in the classroom.
